Job Responsibilities

Directly and through staff, manage and coordinate operational activities for assigned functional areas while ensuring quality service and effective operational support for internal and external customers. Responsibilities include:

- Lead and develop a team of approximately nine employees across multiple operational specialties.
- Establish goals, provide coaching and feedback, measure performance, and build accountability across the team.
- Monitor operational workflows and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
- Review operational exceptions and provide approvals for designated transactions and transfers.
- Support risk management activities by reviewing payment operations and maintaining appropriate controls.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective process handoffs and operational collaboration.
- Oversee adherence to corporate policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the evaluation and enhancement of operational systems, processes, and controls.
- Support ongoing business initiatives and operational projects while maintaining oversight of daily operations.
- Develop an understanding of Benefit Payment Services operations and the broader IT&C business to support strategic decision-making and organizational goals.

What You'll Lead

Benefit Payment Services supports a variety of operational activities including:

- Pension and benefit payment processing
- Payment corrections and reversals
- Wire, ACH, and check transactions
- Tax payment administration and filings
- IRS and regulatory support activities
- New client onboarding and project-related initiatives

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically five or more years of relevant experience

- Thorough knowledge of operational functions, systems, procedures, and products supported by the assigned area
- Strong operational leadership and employee development skills
- Proven ability to manage service delivery, operational performance, and risk-related activities
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and business functions
- Understanding of applicable federal and state laws and regulations
- Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; advanced technical skills are not required for success in this role.

Location Expectations

This position follows a hybrid work model and requires employees to work in the office 60% of scheduled workdays each week .

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
