Designs, develops and oversees system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities. Serves as focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture. Ensures conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system. Develops systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definition. Supports internal and external design reviews. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design and analysis methodologies. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience with MBSE and systems architecture best practices
• Experience as a systems architect or software on an aeronautical program
• Knowledge of software architecture principles, patterns, styles, and practices, including layered, service-oriented, microservices, event-driven, modular, distributed, and component-based architectures.
• Experience designing maintenance or logistical systems
• Experience with software development programs
• Experience leading system engineering activities
Desired Skills
* Systems Engineering & Architecture: Advanced knowledge of Systems Engineering and Architecture across the full lifecycle, from mission needs and requirements through design, integration, verification, validation, and deployment.
* Architecture Development: Ability to develop and evaluate functional, logical, physical, operational, and system-of-systems architectures.
* Open Systems Architecture: Demonstrated understanding of Open Systems Architecture (OSA), MOSA, modularity, open interfaces, interoperability, scalability, portability, and reduction of proprietary/vendor dependencies.
* Requirements & Traceability: Ability to decompose mission and stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements and maintain traceability between requirements, architecture, design, and verification.
* Digital Engineering & MBSE: Working knowledge of MBSE, SysML, digital engineering, digital threads, architecture modeling, and model-based decision-making.
* DoD Acquisition: Working knowledge of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF), acquisition pathways, capability development, incremental delivery, and the relationship between architecture, requirements, cost, schedule, and risk.
* Trade Studies: Ability to conduct and defend architectural trade studies addressing performance, cost, schedule, technology maturity, interoperability, risk, and lifecycle impacts.
* Integration & Interoperability: Experience architecting and integrating complex systems across platforms, subsystems, suppliers, domains, and technology generations.
* Modernization & Technology Insertion: Ability to identify capability gaps, establish technology insertion points, and develop practical modernization strategies for legacy and future systems.
* Architecture Governance: Ability to establish architecture standards, principles, patterns, technical baselines, decision records, and governance processes.
* Cybersecurity & Resilience: Ability to incorporate cybersecurity, resiliency, obsolescence, supply-chain risk, vulnerabilities, and single points of failure into architectural decisions.
* Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams, mentor architects, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex technical issues to engineering, program, customer, and executive audiences.

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
* Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $185400.00 - $344400.00
* Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
* Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $166900.00 - $309900.00
* Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
* Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $148300.00 - $275500.00
* Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
