LaBella is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist / Geologist / Engineer to join our growing, multidisciplinary Potsdam, NY office. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to join a dynamic team working on exciting, multi-phase, technically engaging, and impactful projects. The successful candidate will perform field work including regulated building material inspection, groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and surface water sampling, submit samples to a laboratory for analysis, manage and evaluate field and lab data, supervise contractors and drillers, and provide construction oversight. This individual will additionally support project managers on a variety of projects with the preparation and completion of reports, drawings, and other project documents. Duties

- Assist with field investigations and site inspections.
- Perform field monitoring of various media.
- Provide project monitoring and air sampling.
- Perform soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling.
- Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
- Assist with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections, monitoring, documentation, and compliance activities.
- Collect, record, and organize field data in a concise and accurate manner.
- Perform data presentation, map creation, and report preparation.
- Prepare deliverables on time and within budget.
- Maintain open communication with project team members.
- Support various environmental projects to ensure their successful planning, implementation, and completion.
- Represent the company in a professional manner and in line with the firm's core values.
- Conduct work to professional standards and following the firm's QA/QC policy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental specialists, engineers, contractors, and government agencies, to achieve project objectives.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including environmental assessments, permits, reports, and correspondence, and ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

Requirements

- B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering
- 0–3 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related environmental field.
- Entry-level candidates with strong academic, internship, field, GIS, AutoCAD, or technical writing experience will be considered.
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD and / or ArcGIS preferred.
- Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be team oriented with the ability to work effectively with project managers, field staff, contractors, clients, and other professionals.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting environment.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary group of professionals.
- Organized with strong attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and a positive attitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel for various projects, including occasional overnight stays, as required.

- Valid NYS driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to perform outdoor fieldwork in a variety of weather and site conditions.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds at a time.
