JOB SUMMARY
Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our growing Generator Manufacturing Division.
All Machine Operators begin by learning and operating press brake equipment , developing a strong foundation in precision metal fabrication, machine operation, and quality standards. As employees gain experience, demonstrate proficiency, and expand their technical skills, they will have opportunities to advance into operating our Salvagnini automated sheet metal fabrication equipment and other advanced manufacturing machinery.
In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality metal components used in the manufacturing of industrial power generation equipment. This includes interpreting shop drawings, operating machinery, verifying measurements, and ensuring finished products meet established quality standards.
The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Previous machine operating or metal fabrication experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates dependability, a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn to set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal components according to shop drawings and production specifications.
- Develop the skills necessary to advance into operating Salvagnini automated sheet metal fabrication equipment and other manufacturing machinery.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
- Use precision measuring instruments, including tape measures, calipers, and other tools, to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy.
- Monitor machine operations to maintain production efficiency, quality, and consistency.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Perform machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting as needed.
- Identify and communicate equipment malfunctions, material defects, and quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Minimize material waste through proper machine operation, material handling, and efficient production practices.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and general machine upkeep.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures, equipment operating guidelines, and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new equipment, cross-train, and take on additional responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new machinery and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and understand basic measurements, shop drawings, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and general manufacturing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Ability to identify problems and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willingness to accept feedback, develop new skills, and take on increased responsibilities.
- Commitment to minimizing material waste and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience operating press brakes, CNC machinery, or other metal fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, bending, forming, or cutting processes.
- Experience with Salvagnini equipment or other automated manufacturing systems is a plus but not required.
We value individuals who are mechanically inclined, dependable, teachable, and eager to grow. Prior Salvagnini experience is not necessary.
WORK CONDITIONS
Physical Demands / Work Environment
This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs. It may also require pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting 50+ pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment that may include exposure to welding fumes, sparks, heat, smoke, dust, noise, moving equipment, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Employees are required to follow all established safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
