Overview:
The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Partnerships and Loyalty team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to apply full-stack expertise in designing, building, deploying, and scaling real-time, interactive applications used by thousands of clients worldwide. The role involves a broad range of responsibilities, including front-end web development, server-side logic, and database management. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, with a strong focus on UI development, API integration, and building cloud-native solutions that operate at a global scale and handle high-volume workloads.
In this role, you will work within an agile development methodology, collaborating with other technical delivery teams while mentoring junior engineers to deliver robust, high-quality solutions for new features and services. All team members contribute to the design, development, and testing of features.
This is a hybrid position based in Atlanta, GA, with optional O’Fallon, MO, requiring three days per week onsite.

Role:
• Design, build, test, deploy, and enhance full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, Angular, PostgreSQL, SQL, NoSQL, and Snowflake.
• Develop scalable microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems that support real-time analytics, reporting, and data-driven applications.
• Build intuitive, responsive, and high-performing user interfaces that transform complex data into meaningful insights and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Translate business and product requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable, and testable software solutions.
• Design, develop, and optimize database structures, queries, and data models for large-scale, data-intensive applications.
• Apply strong software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers and other stakeholders across global teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Continuously improve application performance, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to Agile planning, estimation, prioritization, and delivery while taking ownership of technical outcomes.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including tools such as GitHub Copilot, to accelerate coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, code reviews, and other software development activities, with appropriate engineering judgment and human oversight.
• Mentor team members, share technical knowledge, and help foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

All About You:
• Extensive experience developing enterprise-scale full-stack applications, with strong expertise across backend services, frontend development, and database technologies.
• Extensive experience designing and developing Java applications, Spring Boot services, RESTful APIs, and microservices in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, and responsive web application development.
• Proven experience designing and developing modern, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces that deliver engaging and effective user experiences.
• Strong database design, data modeling, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, query optimization, and performance tuning skills.
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture, distributed systems, API design, and cloud-native development practices, Azure experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
• Experience designing and developing event-driven applications, scalable distributed systems, and data-intensive applications.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to improve productivity and software quality across coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, Git-based development, code reviews, observability, and operational readiness.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in an Agile engineering environment, contributing to collaborative technical decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make thoughtful technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and influence decisions across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
