Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization in Upper Manhattan, is seeking an energetic, resourceful, and highly organized Office Assistant to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing day-to-day administrative support while also assisting with marketing and communications initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a mature, dependable self-starter with excellent judgment, strong writing and communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide day-to-day administrative and office support to ensure smooth daily operations.

- Manage multiple administrative tasks, projects, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Draft, edit, proofread, and prepare professional correspondence, announcements, and organizational communications.

- Create, design, and distribute mass email campaigns and announcements using Mailchimp.

- Update and maintain website content through WordPress, ensuring information is accurate and current.

- Assist with social media management, including creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content.

- Design promotional materials, graphics, flyers, and digital communications using Canva.

- Support marketing and communications initiatives, including email campaigns, website updates, event promotions, and digital content.

- Provide professional, responsive customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.

- Maintain organized records, materials, and administrative workflows while ensuring accuracy and timely follow-through.

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum of 2 years of administrative or office support experience.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar, punctuation, editing, and proofreading abilities.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.

- Mailchimp proficiency required , including experience creating, designing, and sending mass email campaigns.

- WordPress proficiency required , including experience updating and managing website content.

- Experience using Canva to create marketing and promotional materials.

- Experience managing social media accounts and developing engaging content.

- Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Mature, resourceful, proactive, and dependable, with excellent judgment and a positive attitude.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

- Experience working in a nonprofit, community-based, or mission-driven organization is a plus.

SALARY

- $20-27 per hour

- Temp-to-perm opportunity

- Benefits available following the introductory period upon permanent hire

- Monday–Friday, full-time

- Upper Manhattan, NYC

- On-site position
