Job Description & Summary
The Opportunity
As a Financial Statement Audit Senior Associate you will support audits for clients in the Energy, Utilities & Resources sector, helping evaluate financial statements, internal controls, governance, and risk management processes within our Audit and Assurance practice. As a Senior Associate you will analyze complex issues, manage assigned workstreams, build meaningful client relationships, and guide junior team members while strengthening your technical skills and professional presence. In this role at PwC, you will contribute to financial statement audit engagements by interpreting data, applying audit methodologies and technology tools, and delivering work that aligns with the broader objectives of the engagement and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Executing external audit workstreams for energy, utilities, and resources clients, focusing on financial statement areas, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
- Analyzing accounting policies, financial transactions, and disclosure support to identify risks of material misstatement and unusual trends
- Reviewing and documenting audit evidence, process flows, and control activities in line with auditing methodologies and professional standards
- Interpreting client data, trial balances, and supporting schedules to develop clear observations and recommendations
- Coordinating assigned testing tasks, tracking deadlines, and addressing open items across multiple engagement workstreams
- Building client relationships through clear status updates, issue follow-up, and timely responses to audit requests
- Guiding junior team members by reviewing work, sharing technical feedback, and supporting their development on engagement tasks
- Applying knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements to complex accounting areas
- Using audit technology and data analysis tools to evaluate financial information, spot anomalies, and strengthen audit conclusions
- Monitoring engagement progress, escalating risks, and adapting plans when client circumstances or scope change
What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 2 years of experience
- Before starting full-time at PwC, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment.
What Sets You Apart
- Preference for a Bachelor's degree in at least one of the following fields of study: Accounting
- At least one of the following: Current pursuit of or an active CPA license
- Prior external audit experience supporting energy or utilities clients
- Demonstrating familiarity with auditing methodologies and financial reporting standards
- Interpreting complex financial data to inform audit observations
- Managing client service workstreams while anticipating team needs
- Developing mentoring skills through review of junior team deliverables

Job Posting End Date
The salary range for this position is: $72,000 - $184,440. For residents of Washington state the salary range for this position is: $72,000 - $212,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
