SCOPE OF POSITION

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s (OSUWMC) mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, teaching and research. The System-wide Addiction Services (SWAS) Assistant Manager (AM) at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is responsible for supervising frontline staff, providing day-to-day direction and operational support to the team. The AM promotes a healthy work environment for the team while cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. This role supports initiatives and programs across multiple hospitals, and collaborates with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Behavioral Health Clinicians, and Peer Supporters to support care planning and optimal use of resources.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a supervisory position consisting of, but not limited to:

- Coordinate the patient-care activities of staff members to achieve the most effective, efficient and evidence-based service delivery to patients & families.

- Under the guidance of the senior manager, assists in managing, guiding, coaching, and evaluating the work performance of staff.

- Monitor and assess practice patterns to ensure a high level of consistent and positive outcomes for patients and families.

- Provide education, training, general and technical support to staff members, clarify work processes, and monitor to ensure compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire :  Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling or education accepted by the State of Ohio for licensure. Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor-Clinical Supervisor (LICDC-CS), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) required. LPCC or LISW preferred. Supervision designation required. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred. Peer support supervisor training preferred.

Ongoing :  Maintain licensure(s), credentials, and CBLs. Practice within the parameters of the Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board.  Training in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality (e.g., cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal psychotherapy) will be required. Leadership & supervisory training may be required.
