About this role
The Department of Periodontics is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to support federally funded practice-based and translational research activities, with primary responsibility for the National Dental Practice Training Center (NDP-TC) and related National Dental Practice-Based Research Network (National Dental PBRN) activities. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and research team, the Research Assistant will provide day-to-day research and administrative support for studies involving community-based dental practitioners. The position will assist with practitioner recruitment and follow-up, study tracking, REDCap data collection, preparation and organization of study materials, meeting coordination, documentation, and monitoring completion of study activities. This is an entry-level research position appropriate for an individual with a bachelor’s degree who will receive project-specific training and supervision.
This position is funded through a grant for a period of two years. Continued employment beyond the two-year grant period is contingent upon the availability of continued funding.
The successful candidate should demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational ability, written and oral communication skills, ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic communication platforms. Familiarity with REDCap, clinical research, practice-based research, or community-engaged research is desirable but may be developed through training.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in a basic science is required.

- Previous experience working with an academic research internship.
