Embedded Software Engineer- hybrid schedule!

Join an innovative R&D team developing embedded software solutions that interface directly with hardware. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded software for products and systems while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and customers. Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software applications and system components
- Translate customer and system requirements into effective software solutions
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Participate in code reviews, test planning, and software verification activities
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to continuous process improvement

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years in embedded systems
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, C#, and/or Java
- Experience working directly with embedded hardware
- Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices
- Experience with Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments
- Proficiency with Git or other version control tools
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Full lifecycle product development experience
- Experience in an R&D or new product development environment
- Background in hardware/software integration and system-level troubleshooting
- Experience participating in code reviews and test strategy development

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Goleta, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $107000.00 - $1450000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
