About this role

Electrical Component Engineer- fully remote

Join a team developing high-reliability aerospace and defense systems, supporting the selection, qualification, and failure analysis of Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) components used in mission-critical applications. This role provides technical leadership in parts management, supplier oversight, component screening, and reliability assurance throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

- Lead EEE parts selection, qualification, screening, and procurement activities
- Develop and maintain EEE parts management plans, procedures, and compliance strategies
- Evaluate suppliers and support component sourcing and selection efforts
- Review customer requirements, contracts, and specifications to ensure program compliance
- Investigate component failures, support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) efforts, and coordinate with failure analysis laboratories
- Review GIDEP alerts and assess impacts to programs
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and customer teams to drive component reliability
- Prepare and present technical reports, recommendations, and risk assessments

Required Qualifications

- BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience
- Strong knowledge of EEE parts, semiconductors, microelectronics, and component reliability
- Experience with aerospace, defense, space, missile, or other high-reliability systems
- Hands-on experience with parts management, component selection, and failure analysis
- Familiarity with military and space-industry standards governing EEE components
- Strong technical communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with MIL-STD-1580, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, and MIL-PRF specifications
- Experience working with GIDEP advisories and alerts
- Hands-on experience in an EEE Parts Failure Analysis Laboratory
- Background supporting launch vehicles, missile defense, or other mission-critical aerospace programs

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Goleta, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $100.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
