Business Operations Specialist
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to non-executive employees, small teams, or departments, ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflows. You will utilize various business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, and meeting minutes, while also editing, proofreading, and formatting documents to maintain high-quality production standards.
This is a 11-month, Canada home-based position which can be a Development Assignment or a Contract position. This could also be hybrid based role from a Bayer office in Saskatchewan or Alberta.
What you will do:
- Manage Accounts Payables in coordination with accounting, finance, AP, and vendors, processing requisitions and invoices promptly through electronic control (SAP) and other necessary systems.
- Orchestrates purchase orders, service entries, contracts, and capital project submissions within the company’s systems.
- Reconcile, allocate, and track charges for timely payments while maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and preferred vendors.
- Organize and coordinate special events, meetings, conferences, tours, training sessions, and customer trips, including managing the RSVP process and tracking responses.
- Take accountability for organizing travel and event logistics by developing itineraries and agendas, scheduling air travel, booking transportation, and arranging lodging, catering, venue reservations, and equipment rentals.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for full-time and contract employees, as outlined in HR, IT, and Fleet procedures.
- Handle day-to-day office duties such as answering calls, emails, and other correspondence, shipping and receiving packages, managing office inventory, and addressing IT-related issues.
- Collaborate with the landlord on the upkeep requirements of the facility and common areas.
- Coordinate with global security to maintain the site’s security systems, including access cards, audits, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Review site documentation (SOPs, work instructions, etc.) and make necessary corrections.
- Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with Bayer Safety, compliance and Sustainability Policies.
Who you are:
- Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma with 5 years of related administrative experience; or a minimum 1-year certificate in office administration or a related discipline with 3 years of related administrative experience; or a minimum 2-year diploma in office administration or a related discipline with 1 year of related experience.
- Advanced proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneNote, at a level that facilitates efficient workflow.
- Strong interpersonal and English communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills.
Additional Skills Preferred:
- Experience with operating systems such as SAP, CRM, and Concur

The base salary range for this role is between $59,120 and $88,680. This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.
This role also provides the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation. If performance-based compensation is earned, the total compensation package may provide an opportunity to earn a Total Direct Compensation ( TDC) range of $63,800 and $95,700 . This TDC would include base salary and may also include items like bonuses (short-term and long-term incentives) and sales incentives. The estimated TDC range estimates performance-based compensation earned at 100% of target; however actual amounts may fluctuate below or above the TDC range based on company and/or individual performance.
The base salary range for this role is between $59,120 and $88,680. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.
This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
