About this role
Leidos' Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) has an opening for a Cyber Infrastructure Support professional in our Omaha, NE office. This position will support the testing, implementation, deployment, maintenance, and administration of classified cyber systems, networks, and their supporting infrastructure hardware and software.
In this role you will perform hands-on systems administration and infrastructure support activities across Windows and Linux environments. Responsibilities include configuring and deploying hardware, installing and updating software, applying operating system and firmware updates, managing patches, implementing approved security configurations, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining accurate system documentation.
To be successful in this position, you must be able to work independently on moderately complex assignments while collaborating effectively with system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, engineers, program management, and other technical stakeholders. You should possess a strong technical foundation, demonstrate sound troubleshooting practices, and be willing to learn and support a broad range of infrastructure technologies within a classified, air-gapped environment.
Location: All work will be performed on-site in our Omaha, NE office.
Clearance: You must currently hold an active Top Secret clearance to qualify for consideration.
Primary Responsibilities
This role may include a combination of duties to maintain reliable, secure, and properly configured information systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers, workstations, and supporting infrastructure components.
- Perform approved software installations, upgrades, updates, removals, and configuration changes.
- Support operating system and application patch management activities, including identifying applicable updates, coordinating testing, scheduling deployment, validating installation, and documenting completion.
- Install and validate firmware, driver, and hardware-management updates for servers, workstations, storage devices, network-connected equipment, and peripheral hardware.
- Support the secure transfer, validation, scanning, and installation of software and updates within classified or air-gapped environments.
- Configure and deploy new servers, workstations, peripheral devices, and other information technology equipment in accordance with approved build documentation and security requirements.
- Perform hardware installation, replacement, troubleshooting, repair coordination, and lifecycle support.
- Configure and administer Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and associated enterprise services.
- Support Microsoft Active Directory administration, including user and computer objects, organizational units, security groups, permissions, and related functions using Active Directory Users and Computers and other approved administrative tools.
- Assist with the development, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of Group Policy Objects.
- Apply and validate Security Technical Implementation Guide requirements and other approved security configuration baselines.
- Use approved security and compliance tools to evaluate system configurations and identify potential vulnerabilities or configuration deficiencies.
- Coordinate with Information Assurance personnel to remediate security findings, configuration deficiencies, patching gaps, and vulnerability scan results.
- Support Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including installation, configuration, patching, service management, account administration, log review, and troubleshooting.
- Support virtual infrastructure hosted on VMware vSphere and ESXi platforms, including virtual machine deployment, resource allocation, snapshot management, operating system installation, and basic troubleshooting.
- Monitor system health, availability, performance, storage utilization, service status, and other operational indicators.
- Troubleshoot system outages, degraded performance, authentication issues, application failures, network connectivity problems, and other infrastructure incidents.
- Review system, application, security, and infrastructure logs to support troubleshooting, event analysis, and incident resolution.
- Assist with device discovery, operating system fingerprinting, service scanning, passive scanning, and other approved network or infrastructure assessment activities.
- Support enterprise cybersecurity and infrastructure tools used for endpoint protection, vulnerability management, compliance validation, logging, and monitoring.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including build procedures, configuration records, system diagrams, inventories, maintenance records, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Document completed work, technical findings, configuration changes, patching activities, incidents, and corrective actions in approved ticketing or workflow systems.
- Participate in configuration management and change-control processes by preparing technical implementation details, testing results, validation steps, and rollback procedures.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory information and update asset-management records following equipment deployment, transfer, replacement, or disposal.
- Support hardware and software refresh activities, including staging, configuration, deployment, data migration, validation, inventory updates, and equipment disposition.
- Assist senior technical staff with larger projects, complex troubleshooting efforts, infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and technology-refresh initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and other technical support personnel to resolve hardware, software, licensing, warranty, and compatibility issues.
- Support internal and external audits, assessments, inspections, inventory reviews, and security-validation activities by providing technical evidence and system documentation.
- Follow approved cybersecurity, configuration management, media handling, change control, and information system operating procedures.
- Identify recurring technical issues, supportability concerns, and opportunities to improve system reliability, security, standardization, and operational efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must possess current DoD 8140 IAT II CompTIA Security+ certification or an equivalent certification that satisfies applicable position and customer requirements.
- Hands-on experience supporting information technology infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity operations, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience working with Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
- Experience installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting software applications.
- Experience performing or supporting operating system, application, firmware, and driver updates.
- Experience configuring, deploying, maintaining, or troubleshooting computer hardware.
- Familiarity with patch-management processes, including testing, deployment, validation, exception handling, and documentation.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity configuration standards, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and secure administration practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex technical issues using logs, diagnostic tools, documentation, and established technical practices.
- Ability to create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation.
- Ability to communicate technical issues, findings, and recommended solutions to colleagues across multiple technical disciplines.
- Strong organizational, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with senior technical staff, Information Assurance personnel, engineers, and program leadership.

Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
