ROLE SUMMARY:
International School of Querétaro (ISQ), an Inspired Education school, was founded in 1999 with a constructivist–humanist pedagogical philosophy. The International School of Querétaro (ISQ) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating swimming lessons for children aged 2 to 12, ensuring a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment. The role involves developing students' swimming skills, promoting water safety, and supporting their physical development through age-appropriate aquatic activities.
The Swim Teacher will also collaborate with the Aquatics Coordination team, support school activities and events, and contribute to the successful delivery of ISQ's summer programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and submit lesson plans for all assigned swimming groups, ensuring activities are appropriate for students' ages and abilities.
- Deliver engaging and structured swimming lessons to children aged 2 to 12, promoting swimming skills, water confidence, and safety.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing evaluations of their swimming development and performance.
- Maintain effective group management and ensure a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment during all swimming activities.
- Support the Aquatics Coordination team as needed, including covering swimming lessons or performing lifeguard duties.
- Actively fulfill assigned supervision duties during student arrival and departure from swimming sessions.
- Attend technical council meetings and participate in school events and activities as required by ISQ.
- Plan and deliver land-based activities and aquatic recreation sessions as part of the school's summer program.
- Organize and facilitate games, recreational activities, and group dynamics during summer camp.
- Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and a proactive attitude while supporting the school's educational and safety standards.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience teaching swimming to children aged 2 to 12.
- Valid certifications in First Aid and Aquatic Lifesaving.
- Strong knowledge of swimming instruction techniques and age-appropriate aquatic activities.
- Excellent classroom and group management skills, with the ability to engage and supervise young children effectively.
- A dynamic, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching and student development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating assertiveness, respect, and professionalism.
- A high level of honesty, responsibility, and commitment to student safety and well-being.
- The flexibility and willingness to support additional school activities, swimming sessions, and summer programs as needed.
- A collaborative mindset and strong commitment to ISQ's values and educational environment.
- Availability to work Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
