Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Successful candidates will perform sustainment and new development activities for the GVS suite of services, working within an Agile Scrum team to implement features, maintain integrations, and support on-demand GEOINT visualization. Work may involve development in JavaScript or other acceptable languages, Linux command line tasks, data pipeline support, and simple bug fixes or feature updates under close mentorship. This position is for early career professionals and requires TS/SCI clearance. Familiarity with Apache HTTP Server, PostgreSQL, AWS, or container basics is desired but not required.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM field + 2 years experience; Associate’s degree + 4 years, Master’s + 0 years; or 6 years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
* 1 to 2 years of software development experience with one or more: JavaScript preferred; also acceptable: Java and TypeScript.
* Practical experience with at least one of: Red Hat Linux, PostgreSQL, AWS, or Apache HTTP Server.
* Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes container concepts.
* Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a willingness to participate in agile/scrum ceremonies.
* TS clearance required and active at start, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly per program timeline.
Desired Skills
* Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and Agile/Scrum participation.
* Familiarity with OGC terminology (WMS, WFS, Tile Services) and geospatial data workflows.
* Basic exposure to AngularJS or other modern frontend frameworks, including migration concepts.
* Shell scripting or automation experience on Linux/UNIX using JavaScript, Python, or Java tools.
* Understanding of web services/APIs and basic debugging in a Linux environment.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00
