About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled MIG & TIG Welder to join a premier, specialized manufacturing team in the West Sayville area. Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and heavy structural components.
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols accurately.
Fit, align, clamp, and tack-weld complex assemblies prior to final welding according to technical specifications.
Utilize shop tools and machinery (grinders, saws, shears, torches, and measuring tools) to prepare metal surfaces and finish welds.
Inspect completed welds for conformance to quality, safety, and industry standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant safe working environment in accordance with shop and union guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in both MIG and TIG welding processes.
Technical Skills: Strong ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and schematics.
Certifications: AWS certifications (MIG/TIG) preferred; ability to pass an on-site practical weld test is required.
Equipment: Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, metal fabrication equipment, and measuring instruments.
Union Status: Current union member or eligible/willing to join the local labor union upon hire.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
