About this role
Schedule: Traditional office hours Monday to Friday with flexibility to support and attend events with early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements: Applicants are required to submit to a drug test as part of the hiring process. Personal access to reliable transportation for travel within the surrounding areas of San Antonio and Bexar County is required.
General Summary: This position plays a frontline leadership role to strengthen and grow our partner agency network. This role combines relationship building with regulatory compliance, ensuring that our service territory is strategically managed and that all partners follow the policies of the San Antonio Food Bank, Feeding America, and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). You will oversee the fair and compliant distribution of food inventory—including TEFAP, donated, and purchased products—while providing exceptional customer service and training to help our partners succeed.
Impact:
Partner Onboarding, Training & Capacity Building
- Recruit and orient new partner agencies, ensuring they align with the Food Bank's mission and values.
- Develop strategies to help partner agencies increase their capacity, connecting neighbors with root-cause services like nutrition, federal benefits, and job placement.
- Create and run regular training workshops for partners, and execute a network retention plan to reduce agency turnover.
- Network and collaborate with peers across the broader Feeding America network to share best practices.
Auditing & Compliance
- Maintain a deep understanding of compliance policies for the San Antonio Food Bank, Feeding America, and the TDA, ensuring food safety and proper inventory handling.
- Periodically audit, review, and update physical and digital agency files, including required licenses, health inspections, and permits.
- Monitor agency ordering and product distribution channels to ensure all partners receive product fairly and transparently.
- Write and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Agency Relations team to maintain safety and efficiency.
Data Management & Special Projects
- Serve as the internal lead and go-to resource for the Service Insights on MealConnect project and its extensions across the organization.
- Maintain and track the agency data dashboard to measure network progress and compile annual demographic data on clientele.
- Research the community for service gaps in underserved areas, using regional data to build customized food distribution plans.
Leadership & Event Support
- Supervise, train, and coach warehouse coordinators and personnel—ensuring high productivity, strict housekeeping adherence, and attainment of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Set clear expectations, provide real-time coaching, and deliver continuous feedback to ensure complete audit readiness.
- Assist with "Food for Today" efforts and support other internal departments with community events when necessary.
Required Job Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Coursework non-profit management, public affairs, program management, business administrations, social work or an equivalent work experience.
- 3 or more years of progressive experience in food banking, non-profit work, social services, account management, public health, education or education administration, government or civic programs.
- Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager or in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and distribution.
- Experience supervising regular full-time paid staff, including experience providing effective training, supervision, motivation, and delegation to others.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good judgment, discretion, and a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions and a professional approach to customer service.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, strong organization of work/time, and a proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff, donors, and volunteers.
Certifications & Licenses
- Current Texas driver’s license, liability insurance, and a clean driving record.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Bi-lingual proficiency in English/Spanish highly preferred.
- Familiarity with TDA, USDA, or TEFAP compliance regulations.
Physical Demands
Constantly required to sit, talk, hear, keyboard, and utilize fine manipulation and near visual acuity.
Frequently required to walk, utilize gross manipulation, push, pull, reach, and stoop.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
This job is primarily performed in an indoor office environment and is required to travel and attend both indoor and outdoor events with varying conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
