## Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will be an active member of the Reprocessing Mechanical Engineering Team. This individual will assist in supporting new product development of medical capital equipment while working under the guidance of STERIS Engineers.

- Location: Plymouth, MN (Minneapolis metro area)
- Work environment: onsite
- Hours: Full-time for the duration of your internship
## What You'll Do as a Mechanical Engineering Intern
- Assist in designing, developing, documenting and executing mechanical and/or electromechanical solutions for sub-systems and components to meet project goals.
- Work with solid models (Creo), engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials within Windchill PLM software.
- Develop prototypes and evaluate their performance.
- Work as a collaborative team member in engineering projects.
- Follow industry codes, standards, and recommendations.
- Develop verification testing protocols, execute testing, and write reports.
- Research various technologies, materials, and/or new product capabilities in support of a Technology Development Project.
- Communicate results and findings to the engineering team.
## The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Successful completion of sophomore year requirements by internship start date (May 2027).
- Has a fundamental understanding and application of mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience in a 3D modeling software (Solidworks, Creo, etc.)
Preferred:
- A GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in engineering.
- Involvement in technical student organizations or competition teams.
Other:
- Organizational, communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Pay range for this opportunity is $20.00-26.00 per hour.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
