EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
An Associate's degree and 3 years of experience in a computerized warehouse environment. Must have knowledge of warehousing practices and equipment and standard warehouse safety procedures. Experience managing represented employees working under a union contract is preferred. In lieu of a degree, directly related job experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

SUMMARY
Supervises material receipts, storage, transfers, and issues in a computerized storeroom environment. Supports the inventory requirements and customer service needs for the Authority. Ensures that inventory is stored accurately and efficiently by: A) Implementing appropriate material handling techniques, storage practices, and configurations; B) Integrating computer system reports into daily operations; C) Overseeing cyclic inventory counts; D) Conducting regular spot inventory counts; E) Identifying unneeded, non-moving or duplicate items; F) Reviewing daily operations of assigned personnel. Ensures the maintenance of assigned storerooms and equipment.
Ensures storeroom safety by conducting monthly employee safety meetings and by reviewing storage practices for compliance with OSHA standards, safety requirements, and municipal fire codes. Assists in analyzing needs and recommending changes to improve storeroom systems, procedures, and policies. Participates in planning, developing, and implementing new storage facilities. Supervises represented personnel assigned to geographically dispersed stores. Plans, monitors, and evaluates employee performance. Makes recommendations to hire and promote represented employees.
Responsible for disciplinary action, termination, and Union employee grievances.
Monitors expenditures against annual operating and capital budgets. Performs the duties of the Administrator of the Automated Time and Attendance System for Bus and Rail Stores.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Supervises material receipts, storage, transfers, and issues of stock in a computerized storeroom environment, at a Main Storeroom (s) or multiple Sub-Storerooms or a combination of both.
- Supports the inventory requirements and customer service needs of the Maintenance Department. Ensures that stores' originated information needs of purchasing, inventory control, maintenance and accounting are met.
- Ensures that inventory is stored accurately and efficiently by: A) Implementing appropriate material handling techniques, storage practices, and configurations; B) Integrating computer system reports into daily operations; C) Overseeing cyclic inventory counts; D) Conducting regular spot inventory counts and processing adjustments; E) Identifying unneeded, non-moving or duplicate items and working with individual departments to determine needs; F) Reviewing daily operations of assigned personnel and supervision and provide instructions as needed. G) Coordinates inventory movement and sale for the Authority’s obsolete disposal program.
- Ensures the maintenance of assigned storerooms and equipment.
- Ensures storeroom safety by conducting monthly employee safety meetings and by reviewing storage practices for compliance with OSHA standards, safety requirements, and municipal fire codes.
- Assists in analyzing needs and recommending changes to improve storeroom systems, procedures, and policies based on inventory management industry guidelines.
- Participates in planning, developing, and implementing new storage facilities, including the design, layout, technical specifications, operations and procedures.
- Responsible for being available for a 24/7 geographically dispersed operation. Supervises represented personnel assigned to geographically dispersed stores.
- Monitors expenditures against annual operating and capital budgets.
- Performs the duties of the Administrator of the Time and Attendance System for Bus and Rail Stores Material Controllers.
- Responsible for weekend and holiday on-call duty.
- Maintains all of Maintenance Core Inventory to ensure proper handling of cores (internal and external rebuilds) to support Bus/Rail operations.
- Work with Quality Assurance to ensure that all Non-Conformance Report materials are processed and returned to vendors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Lead Material Controllers and Material Controllers.
