Job Title: Engineering Technician Job Description
The Engineering Technician provides essential technical and documentation support to Manufacturing and Engineering teams. The primary focus of this role is to create, review, and update manufacturing work instructions, standard work, procedures, and other technical documentation. This ensures that production employees have clear and accurate information. Additionally, the technician will be involved in troubleshooting, staging production builds, and facilitating equipment upgrades and installations. The role requires close collaboration with engineers, manufacturing leaders, and production employees to understand processes, document changes, improve work instructions, and support day-to-day manufacturing activities.
Responsibilities
- Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, standard work, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Work directly with the Process Engineering Team to ensure documentation accurately reflects current manufacturing processes.
- Improve existing documentation by adding clear instructions, photographs, diagrams, specifications, and other supporting information.
- Observe manufacturing processes on the production floor and document the correct sequence of operations by referencing engineering drawings, CAD-generated documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, assembly procedures, and other technical data.
- Support engineers with the development, evaluation, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
- Provide general technical support for daily operations.
- Participate in Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous-improvement activities.
- Perform testing, measurements, data collection, and technical evaluations as directed.
- Interface with process engineers to audit existing assembly steps and capture missing details/notes from engineering prints into manuals.
- Take and download photos of assembly procedures and upload them into standard work instruction templates.
Essential Skills
- Detail-oriented and comfortable reading technical information.
- Ability to work closely with both engineers and production teams.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Experience with Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous-improvement activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Quality assurance experience related to documentation.
- Experience with document control and review.
- Experience in CAD and BOM usage.
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
Work Environment
This position involves working between four workstations, with documentation duties performed on the production floor. The role offers opportunities for growth, paid time off, holiday, and sick pay. The Engineering Technician will support manufacturing operations by balancing documentation creation and maintenance with hands-on support of engineers on the production floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
