THE WORK

As a Multifunctional Manufacturing Planner Associate Manager, you will lead the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) functions, overseeing make/buy decisions, bill of materials (BOM) planning, and master production scheduling to ensure systemic integrity. You will manage a team responsible for warehousing and shipping logistics, driving inventory optimization to minimize costs and maximize efficiency across the production lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage comprehensive manufacturing planning and material management activities to support critical production job functions.

• Oversee the integrity of production systems and drive inventory optimization strategies to reduce costs.

• Lead the recruitment, selection, and training of subordinate employees, ensuring a high-performing team.

• Direct performance assessments, work assignments, and recognition programs in compliance with corporate policies and labor agreements.

• Execute and monitor MRP transactions, including BOM maintenance and master production scheduling.

• Coordinate warehousing and shipping logistics, including receipt, picking, and outbound procedures.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, procurement, and operations to resolve bottlenecks and improve throughput.

• Implement lean and continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six-Sigma or Kaizen, to enhance process efficiency.

• Guide the organization through major change initiatives, such as ERP implementations or process transformations.

• Translate high-level business objectives into actionable operational plans to meet customer demands.

• Mentor talent within a union-represented environment to foster a culture of accountability and professional growth.

Basic Qualifications

* Education

* Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
* Professional Experience

* 5 + years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing planning, material management, or production control within a medium‑ to large‑scale production environment.
* Minimum 2 years of proven supervisory or people‑management experience, preferably overseeing union‑represented teams (e.g., stockroom, kitting, production control).
* Direct experience working with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) covering Make/Buy decisions, BOM maintenance, Master Production Scheduling, and inventory/warehouse transactions.
* Technical Competency

* Demonstrated ability to maintain data integrity in MRP/ERP modules and to execute/monitor inventory‑optimization processes.
* Working knowledge of warehousing and shipping logistics, including receipt, put‑away, picking, and outbound shipping procedures.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and reporting tools; familiarity with data‑visualization software is advantageous.
* Leadership & Interpersonal Skills

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively direct, coach, and evaluate a diverse, union‑represented workforce.
* Experience conducting recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions in compliance with labor agreements and corporate policies.
* Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, procurement, and operations teams to resolve production issues and drive continuous improvement.
* Analytical & Problem‑Solving Ability

* Solid analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret production data, identify bottlenecks, and propose cost‑effective inventory and scheduling solutions.
* Familiarity with lean or continuous‑improvement methodologies (e.g., 6S, Kaizen) to support process efficiency initiatives.
* Security & Eligibility

* Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain required government security clearance.
* Additional Requirements

* Ability to work flexible hours to meet production demands and to travel between manufacturing or warehouse locations as needed.
* Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standards in a manufacturing setting.

Desired Skills

* Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.
* Proven track record of leading an organization, department, or sizable team through major change initiatives (e.g., ERP/MRP implementation, restructuring, process transformation, Inventory Control Management).
* Demonstrated experience partnering with cross‑functional leaders (Industrial Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Production Managers (MPMs), Supervisors, and other stakeholders) to plan and execute continuous improvement projects.
* Success in applying lean, Six‑Sigma, or Theory of Constraints methodologies to drive measurable performance gains (cost reduction, lead‑time improvement, inventory optimization).
* Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate high‑level business objectives into actionable operational plans.
* Excellent stakeholder‑management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse functional groups toward common goals.
* Familiarity with advanced MRP/ERP capabilities (advanced SAP modules, SAP Business Workflow, or equivalent) and data‑driven decision‑making tools.
* Experience developing and mentoring talent within a union‑represented environment, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $100200.00 - $186200.00

* Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
* For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
