Supporting this work is a dedicated placements team responsible for creating and coordinating high-quality placement experiences for our students and building strong partnerships with the organisations that support them.

Job Description

At Griffith University, we are looking for an exceptional administrator to join our Placement Team as a Placement Officer. If you are highly organised, tech-savvy, enjoy building relationships and delivering excellent customer service, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

In this role, you will coordinate student placements, support compliance and preparation activities, manage records and systems, and work closely with students, academics and industry partners to ensure positive placement experiences. Previous placement experience is welcome but not required. We provide comprehensive training and value strong organisational skills, attention to detail, adaptability and confidence using technology.

In this role, you will:

- Coordinate the allocation, administration and ongoing management of student placements across relevant programs and disciplines.
- Support students through placement preparation, pre-placement requirements, compliance processes, correspondence and practical advice.
- Work closely with academic leads, professional staff and placement colleagues to deliver high-quality placement experiences.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with industry partners, including supporting new and recurring placement opportunities and placement deed administration.
- Use placement or education management systems to maintain records, monitor requirements, prepare reports and support quality assurance, evaluation and accreditation activities.
- Contribute to operational activities including databases, orientation materials, assessments, finance processes, supervisor engagement and payment administration, events and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You will bring relevant experience, training and/or qualifications, supported by strong organisational skills, sound judgement and clear communication. Experience in student administration, placements, compliance, health education, partner engagement or complex service environments would be highly regarded. You will also demonstrate:

- Ability to build strong professional relationships with students, staff and external partners.
- Is proactive, adaptable, resilient and solution-focused in a changing environment.
- Can balance competing priorities, manage details accurately and work with a high level of independence.
- Is digitally confident and comfortable using systems, data and records to support effective placement administration.
- Values teamwork, contributes positively to culture and is committed to student success, continuous improvement and professional growth.

This is a continuing, full-time position primarily based at Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 5 range $82,415 - $92,456 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $96,426 - $108,174 per annum.
