About the Opportunity
You will support the design review process so assets are safe, maintainable and deliver value over their whole life. Working across a range of disciplines, you will influence design decisions, assess asset performance and risks, and embed long-term operation and maintenance outcomes from the outset.
This role suits an early to intermediate career engineer looking to accelerate their development in a major PPP environment. You will work alongside experienced asset, design and operations professionals and help shape a legacy asset that will serve Northland for generations.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Review asset designs for safety, maintainability and whole-of-life performance
- Prepare operational documentation and review asset information for handover
- Inspect construction work and monitor progress against operational requirements
- Assess asset performance and risks, and investigate defects and failures
- Support commissioning and operational readiness ahead of the operations phase
- Plan asset renewals and identify ways to improve lifecycle outcomes
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, asset management, infrastructure or a related discipline.
- Experience in infrastructure engineering, asset management, maintenance or operations on tunnels, roads, bridges or other complex assets.
- Reviewing engineering designs and technical documentation, interpreting drawings and specifications, and construction inspection, infrastructure delivery, commissioning and operational readiness.
- Understanding of lifecycle, reliability, maintainability and whole-of-life principles, including deterioration modelling, asset renewal and lifecycle planning.
- Data mining and analysis of asset condition, maintenance and performance data, using asset management systems such as AWM.
- Developing O&M manuals and operational procedures, with strong technical writing and reporting skills.
