We’re looking for an experienced Senior Modeller – Water Networks to join our Strategy and Planning team in Newmarket.

This is an opportunity to use your hydraulic modelling expertise to help shape the future of Auckland’s water network. You’ll undertake modelling and analysis that supports network planning, growth, development and major infrastructure investment, helping us understand network performance, identify constraints and determine the right solutions for the future.

Working across planning, development, operations and capital delivery, you’ll use hydraulic models to provide clear technical insights that support important infrastructure and servicing decisions. You’ll also contribute to Watercare’s network servicing plans and Asset Management Plan, ensuring investment is appropriately timed and responds to Auckland’s changing needs.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Undertake hydraulic modelling assessments for water network and transmission servicing plans, studies and feasibility work.
- Review, validate and audit hydraulic models to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Develop and assess modelling scenarios covering growth, development and operational requirements, identifying network constraints and recommending solutions.
- Provide modelling input into feasibility studies, option assessments, project delivery, commissioning and operational investigations.
- Support planning for Auckland’s growth through capacity assessments, design reviews, major development applications, private plan changes and Fast Track Resource Consent applications.
- Contribute to water network and transmission servicing plans and Asset Management Plan inputs, helping inform future infrastructure investment, timing and triggers.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, developers, engineering consultants and other partners to support effective network planning and infrastructure outcomes.
