YOUR IMPACT:

As a Software Developer at OpenText, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise software products. You will independently develop complex software components, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of product quality.

You will take ownership of code quality, participate in code reviews, and proactively identify and prevent defects. Working within an Agile development environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements analysis, design, planning, development, and testing while continuously improving software development practices.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:

- Independently develop complex software components and deliver assigned work within agreed timelines without compromising quality.
- Take ownership of code quality through effective code reviews and defect prevention practices.
- Provide bottom-up estimates for assigned tasks and development activities.
- Contribute to requirements analysis, technical design, planning, and process improvements.
- Identify potential issues, communicate risks, and drive timely resolution.
- Develop and consume web services using RESTful APIs.
- Apply Agile development methodologies and test-driven development practices.
- Participate in regression testing and ensure the reliability of software releases.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and communicate progress, challenges, and technical information clearly.
- Leverage AI tools to support and improve day-to-day software development activities.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- 2–5 years of experience in enterprise product development.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE and application development using Spring Boot.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, design, and coding skills.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with DHTML.
- Hands-on experience with object-oriented JavaScript UI frameworks such as BackboneJS or AngularJS.
- Understanding of the Twelve-Factor App methodology.
- Experience building and consuming web services using RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of XML, SQL, databases, and data modeling.
- Experience with regression testing and software quality practices.
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps tools and practices.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to use AI tools in regular software development activities.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
- Experience in the content management domain.
- Exposure to test-driven development practices.
- Experience with enterprise software products and complex application development.
