MGH Neurology | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Massachusetts General Hospital's Department of Neurology is seeking a full-time Practice Assistant II to join our team! In this role, you'll be an essential part of our clinical operations, helping ensure patients receive a welcoming, organized, and seamless experience throughout their care.
As a key member of our team, you'll support daily practice operations through patient scheduling, registration, administrative coordination, and communication with patients and providers. What You'll Do
- Greet and assist patients, providing a positive experience during check-in and check-out.
- Schedule appointments, manage provider calendars, and maintain accurate appointment records.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct messages appropriately.
- Maintain patient records, scan documents, and process billing forms and co-payments.
- Coordinate medical records, laboratory results, prescription refill requests, and prior authorization inquiries.
- Support daily administrative operations, including correspondence, filing, and document management.
- Serve as a resource for scheduling, registration, and billing systems, assisting with training as needed.
- Assist with more complex scheduling needs, including surgical scheduling and provider schedule adjustments, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3 years of office experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general office procedures.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to handle patient inquiries, resolve routine issues, and maintain accurate records.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Compensation
Starting at $20.00 per hour , with increases based on relevant years of experience.
