About the role
As Logistics and Trade Compliance Specialist, you’ll own how our hardware moves across borders, from supplier to data center and back again. You’ll make sure every shipment is correctly classified, documented and cleared, and that export controls and sanctions are checked before anything leaves the dock. Your work keeps our data center deployments on schedule, keeps freight and storage costs in check, and frees our Inventory and Procurement teams to focus on their own work.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound, outbound and intercompany shipments, including equipment deliveries, site transfers, returns and RMAs. Work with Procurement and Hardware on delivery schedules and receiving requirements, and resolve delays, loss, damage and claims.
- Prepare and check customs and shipping documentation, including HS classification, origin, valuation and commercial invoices. Review broker submissions, spot errors and keep auditable records.
- Oversee export controls, licensing and shipment approvals.
- Work with our forwarders, brokers and 3PL partners day to day, tracking cost, lead times and performance, and flagging issues and savings.
- Check Incoterms, delivery commitments and tracking requirements with suppliers, together with Procurement.
- Keep landed costs and emergency freight under control and suggest better freight routes.
- Help improve logistics processes, tracking and reporting as we grow.
Your key competencies
- 5-7 years in international logistics, freight or supply chain operations, including hands-on customs and import/export work.
- Solid practical knowledge of customs and trade compliance: HS classification, origin, valuation, Incoterms, shipping documentation, importer-of-record arrangements, and import VAT and duty.
- Familiarity with sanctions and export controls, especially for high-performance computing hardware.
- Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders and/or 3PLs.
- Good understanding of landed costs and comparing shipping options on cost, lead time and risk.
Nice to have
- Experience with technology or data centre equipment, such as GPU servers, or other high-value hardware.
- Familiarity with suppliers across APAC, or Mandarin, Japanese or another relevant language.
- Experience with ERP, warehouse or transport management systems (SAP is a plus).
- Experience with reverse logistics, such as returns, repairs and redeployment.
- Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain or trade compliance.
