About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join a collaborative healthcare team in Thousand Oaks. This role is ideal for a laboratory professional who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and is committed to delivering accurate, timely results that support exceptional patient care.
### What You'll Do
Perform moderate- and high-complexity testing in accordance with laboratory standards and procedures. Analyze, verify, and report laboratory test results accurately and efficiently. Perform testing across multiple laboratory departments, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology as appropriate. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation. Monitor quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure regulatory compliance. Review specimens for acceptability and ensure proper handling and processing. Maintain accurate records and documentation within the laboratory information system. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment. Adhere to all laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
### Required Qualifications
Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist CLS) License required. Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field. Ability to perform testing across multiple laboratory disciplines. Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control practices, and regulatory standards. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
### Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an acute care hospital laboratory. Experience with chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and blood banking. Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records. ASCP certification preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Thousand Oaks, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
