Purpose

The Business Solutions Analyst supports GBME’s business strategies and objectives by delivering assigned initiatives in accordance with regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

The Business Solutions Analyst supports data governance initiatives for a major aggregator of Credit Risk data from Scotiabank Capital Markets applications. The role is the primary contact for client incidents and service requests and prepares requirements and support documentation for ongoing projects

Accountabilities:

- Delivery customer-focused support for internal Capital Markets products and services across Global Risk Management, Global Banking & Markets, and Group Treasury.

- Analyze and resolve incidents and service requests, document solutions, and provide ad hoc SQL data queries and reports.

- Recommend process, system, procedure, and control improvements based on business needs and current practices.

- Plan, coordinate, execute, and document system testing from feasibility through implementation, including integration and user acceptance testing.

- Manage problem logs, emergency change requests, work orders, intake requests, and system changes using tools such as ServiceNow, CAPPM, SharePoint, JIRA, and Confluence.

- Support multiple initiatives concurrently, maintain clear status updates, and escalate risks with recommended resolutions.

- Collaborate with business and technical partners during solution design and implementation.

- Apply the Bank’s risk appetite, values, Code of Conduct, and control requirements while contributing to an inclusive, high-performance environment.

- After-hours support will be required on a rotating shift basis.

Educación / Experiencia / Otra Información

• Skilled communicator with professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Three to five years of financial services experience, preferably in Capital Markets, Risk, or operations support.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets products and experience investigating related data issues.
• Exposure to SQL, Oracle, Unix file systems, and XML; scripting knowledge is an asset.
• Proficiency with Excel; experience with scheduling and ticketing tools such as Tidal, ServiceNow, SharePoint, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of testing methods, including unit, integration, functional, regression, black-box, or white-box testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, relationship-management, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Detail-oriented, results-focused, and able to manage priorities and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
• Collaborative and willing to work outside normal business hours when required.•
