We are currently looking for a Tax Technology Intern to join our team in Franklin, TN. The Tax Technology & Process Improvement team supports the Tax Department's efforts to enhance efficiency, improve data quality, and modernize tax processes through technology and automation. This internship provides hands-on exposure to tax operations, data analytics, process improvement, automation tools, and technology solutions that support federal, state, and international tax functions. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop both technical and business skills while contributing to meaningful projects that improve how tax processes are executed.
A Day in the Life:
- Support tax automation initiatives using tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, Python, Power BI, and similar technologies.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of process documentation, standard operating procedures, and workflow maps.
- Perform data collection, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation activities related to tax reporting and compliance processes.
- Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Collaborate with tax, finance, and technology teams to support ongoing modernization initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Students entering their Junior, Senior, or Master's program at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Interest in technology, automation, data analytics, and process improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking ownership of assigned projects.
- GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
- Ability to perform work onsite at Franklin, TN.
