About this role

Company Description

Sagetap is a rapidly growing startup changing how enterprise technology executives discover and evaluate software. Our AI-driven platform anonymously connects tech leaders with the industry's most credible technology vendors, helping them cut through the noise and solve their biggest problems.

Backed by investors like NFX Ventures, Uncorrelated Ventures, and Emergent Ventures, we are on a mission to fundamentally change software discovery for senior technology leaders and foster meaningful connections in a non-sales setting.

We're a tight-knit, fast-moving team that values curiosity, transparency, and impact. If you're energetic, results-oriented, and excited to work in an early-stage environment, come help us shape the future of enterprise software discovery at Sagetap.

The Role

The constraint on this business is not demand. It is supply of exceptional executives.

Vendors want access to our Sages: the CISOs, Chief AI Officers, and senior technology leaders who make the platform valuable. Building a repeatable engine that brings those executives in and keeps them active is the most important unsolved problem at the company. That's this role.

We've grown the network through outbound, one executive at a time. It works, but it won't get us where we need to go, and the inbox and LinkedIn have stopped working for exactly the people we need to reach. We need channels that compound: executives who bring their peers, content that earns inbound, events with their own gravity, partnerships that reach hundreds of the right people at once, and product mechanics that make growth a feature rather than a campaign.

This role is for an operations-minded, AI-forward marketing leader who builds the system first. Here's what that looks like day to day. You spot a trend in our Sage Signal data and turn it into content people share. You get a Sage who just closed a major initiative to lead a private session for the network. Then you track all of it on a dashboard and keep tuning the funnel.

You'll own Sage community growth end to end and work directly with our CEO and Head of Business Operations. You'll also have something most marketers never get: proprietary data on what enterprises are actually evaluating, replacing, and renewing.

Most marketing leadership roles are asked to make an existing engine more efficient. This one is asked to build it.

What You Will Do

- Build the system first. Get the target account list into CRM, own tracking, attribution, and automation, and build the dashboards the company runs on.
- Own Sage acquisition. Build a portfolio of channels and own the number: executive events, paid and digital, partnerships with executive communities and VC firms, and referral mechanics built with Product.
- Turn advocacy into a channel. Get our strongest Sages telling their stories, and build the program so it doesn't depend on individual relationships.
- Lead content built on proprietary data. Partner with our Sr. Content Marketing Manager to grow the weekly Sage Signal into something senior leaders read and forward.
- Own activation, not just acquisition. A Sage who joins and never takes a first session is not a win.
- Create your own budget. Start small, prove experiments before you scale them, and use vendor and VC sponsorships to fund events and co-marketing.

What Success Looks Like

Outbound costs the same for the thousandth executive as for the first. What you build should get cheaper as it grows.

First 100 days: You've spoken with 30+ Sages. You have experiments in market and an honest baseline for what each channel costs. You also have a point of view on where to concentrate, based on what you've seen here.

12–18 months: Most new Sages arrive through referrals, content, partnerships, and events. Cost per activated Sage (one who completes a first session) is falling, and the share of new Sages who activate is rising.

Who You Are

- An operator first. You've built marketing ops yourself and you make decisions from the data.
- AI-forward in how you actually work, and you can show us what you've built.
- Creative enough to turn a data point into something people share, and disciplined enough to measure what it did.
- You've built demand where the audience was the scarce resource: a marketplace, community, or network.
- A strong writer, credible with senior tech leaders. You can hold a conversation with a CISO without a script.
- You'd rather run five sharp experiments than one expensive campaign, and you want to own a number.

Bonus: enterprise security or AI, community-led growth, executive events, or building a media property alongside a product.
