We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst / Project Coordinator t o join the team!
The Business Analyst / Project Coordinator will:
- Serve as the primary analyst between business stakeholders and the technical team, owning requirements from the first conversation through user acceptance
- Identify the underlying business problem behind each request: ask probing questions, challenge assumptions, and separate the stated solution from the actual need
- Lead requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, process observation, and analysis of existing documents and data
- Produce complete Business Requirements Documents that include the problem statement, business objectives, current and future-state processes, business rules, exceptions and edge cases, assumptions, and measurable acceptance criteria
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories that developers can build from without repeated clarification
- Map current and future-state processes, and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or AI
- Maintain traceability from business need through development and testing
- Plan and support user acceptance testing (UAT), including writing test scenarios, coordinating testers, and tracking defects to resolution
- Use AI tools to speed up analysis, documentation, and process discovery, and validate AI output for accuracy and completeness
- In coordination with the IT Section Manager, support project execution for assigned efforts: track tasks, milestones, risks, and dependencies; facilitate status meetings; prepare status updates; and assess the impact of change requests
Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience as a Business Analyst on software development projects
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a track record of uncovering unstated needs and resolving conflicting requirements across stakeholders
- Proven ability to write detailed BRDs, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories with acceptance criteria
- Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) in business analysis work, such as drafting requirements, summarizing meetings, analyzing processes, or analyzing data
- Proficiency in process modeling (BPMN, swimlane diagrams, flowcharts) using Visio or similar tools
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience with Smartsheet for project tracking and reporting
- Experience supporting project coordination across multiple concurrent efforts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to management
Preferences
- CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certification
- PMP, CAPM, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
- Experience in aerospace, government contracting, or NASA/DoD environments
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle for .NET/web applications
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, or similar tools
- Basic SQL skills for data validation and analysis
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Experience identifying and implementing AI or automation use cases within business processes
Compensation:
- Salary starts at $83,700. Final pay will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
