Position Summary
***$15,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates***
A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience and completed ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.
Minimum Requirements
- High school or equivalent (or higher)
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN)
- 8 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)
Clinical Ladder Other Information
- Full-time with benefits
- 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday 2:00pm - 10:00pm and Friday 8:30am - 7:00pm
- IMPORTANT: While this position is posted as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer IV, the selected candidate may be hired as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer I, II, III, or IV, based on their qualifications, experience, and the minimum requirements they meet.

About The Outer Banks Hospital
The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.
