Overview:

The Manufacturing Operations Specialist II is a mid-level, hands-on role that combines production assembly (including catheter products) with manufacturing system administration, inventory control, and operational analysis in a regulated, clean-room environment. This role independently manages work orders and system transactions, supports production readiness, investigates and resolves inventory or production discrepancies, and partners cross-functionally to improve throughput, quality, and data integrity. The position reports into the Surgical Robotics (MONARCH™) manufacturing organization and contributes to product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and assemble catheter and other medical components following Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI) and established procedures to meet daily build goals, yield, and productivity targets.
- Monitor daily production progress, work order status, and operational metrics; identify and escalate issues, delays, or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate production and inventory records (Lot History Records, build trackers, production status reports) and support Good Documentation Practices.
- Perform material kitting, staging, replenishment, and Kanban activities to support production readiness and uninterrupted operations.
- Perform multiple assembly processes for complex designs involving a combination of disciplines and skill sets.
- Conduct and support cycle counts, inventory verifications, and reconciliations to maintain system integrity and accurate material records.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of manufacturing, inventory, and production data across systems; support corrective actions for discrepancies.
- Operate common assembly and measurement tools (microscope, hot box, UV equipment, snap gauge, multimeter, tweezers, pliers) and follow clean-room practices and line clearance procedures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, materials, planning, quality, and R&D teams to resolve product/process issues and support new product introductions.
- Maintain organized work areas and system documentation in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820 / QSR).
- Meet training and performance requirements to develop proficiency in manufacturing systems, inventory processes, and production operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency, material flow, data accuracy and quality.

Qualifications

Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, production control, supply chain, or related operational environments preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

- Able to perform common catheter assembly processes, such as lamination, tipping using extrusions and handling and assembling small parts.
- Able to perform more complicated tests, such as leak test, continuity and other custom testers which involve simple setup, reading and understanding test results.
- Regular use of microscopes, inspection equipment, and fine-assembly tools for detailed inspection, assembly, and quality-focused manufacturing.
- Prior hands-on manufacturing experience: minimum 5 years in Medical Device Industry and/or catheter assembly and related processes (as applicable).
- Experience with end-to-end complex catheter processes and high-tech/electronics assembly or MedTech manufacturing environments preferred.

- Knowledge of basic manufacturing operations, material flow concepts, and production support activities.
- Experience or willingness to learn in a clean-room environment; familiarity with line clearance and Lot History Records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data entry and basic analysis. Computer literacy and aptitude to learn MES, SAP/ERP platforms, and other business systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate production status and issues clearly, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills; ability to identify, escalate, and support resolution of production, inventory, and system issues.
- Ability to follow written instructions (MPIs) and direction from production management.
- Ability to perform physical activities required by the role (standing, walking, using hands/fingers, reaching) in compliance with clean-room PPE and safety requirements.
- Ability to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on business needs, operational requirements, departmental priorities, special projects, cross-functional support, process improvement initiatives, and other tasks that may fall outside the current job responsibilities.

- Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, minimum 40 hours per week (onsite). Occasional evenings, weekend work, and overtime may be required.
- Physical demands: Periodic standing, sitting, or light positioning during training and work activities. Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands/fingers, and reach with hands and arms as required by job tasks.
- Work environment: Onsite, cleanroom environments for catheter assembly and manufacturing; must follow cleanroom etiquette and GMP.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$47,150.00 - $76,705.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
