Job Title: Financial Analyst Job Description
The Financial Analyst will support labor analytics, provider compensation reporting, and operational performance analysis within a healthcare environment. This role partners closely with finance, HR, clinical leadership, and operational teams to deliver reporting, trend analysis, workforce insights, and strategic support that enable informed business decisions. The position requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience working with complex healthcare financial and operational data.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports on labor costs, productivity, caseload, and workforce metrics.
- Analyze labor trends, including overtime and staffing levels, and evaluate other key operational metrics.
- Maintain workforce position control documentation and reconcile position data with HR reporting systems.
- Investigate financial and operational variances, summarize root causes, and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Assemble, analyze, and present data drawn from financial, clinical, and operational systems in a clear and actionable format.
- Support leadership and HR teams with reporting, workforce modeling, presentations, and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in projects aimed at process improvement, operational efficiency, revenue enhancement, cost reduction, employee engagement, and patient satisfaction.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring clear communication, timely follow-up, and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
- Manage and maintain organizational contract databases, ensuring contracts are current, accurate, and properly executed.
- Assist with contract review and identify potential concerns or issues for leadership review.
- Monitor electronic time-entry records for accuracy and identify trends related to exceptions, compliance, and usage patterns.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support financial planning and analysis activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine reporting tools, metrics, and dashboards that support ongoing operational decision-making.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare financial analysis.
- Proven ability to gather, analyze, and present data to support business decisions.
- Experience working with labor metrics, productivity reporting, and operational analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data manipulation, and reporting.
- Strong PowerPoint skills for creating clear, compelling presentations.
- Excellent analytical abilities with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting physician or advanced practice provider compensation programs.
- Experience with provider incentive compensation calculations and reporting.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, productivity metrics, and provider compensation methodologies.
- Experience working within complex healthcare organizations.
- Background in financial reporting and financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Experience with healthcare operations and data management in a clinical or operational setting.
Work Environment
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week onsite from Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on the remaining days. The role is based in a healthcare environment within a large, complex organization. The standard workday is 8 hours, with flexible start times to support work-life balance. The Financial Analyst works closely with finance, HR, clinical, and operational teams, using tools such as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to analyze and present data. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
