What you will do

Johnson Controls delivers security and fire solutions that help customers protect people, property, and operations. In this role, you will support the successful delivery of complex projects from estimating through closeout, working closely with customers, field teams, and subcontractors to keep work safe, coordinated, and profitable.

As a Complex Security & Fire Project Manager, you will be responsible for the profitable execution of assigned projects, including project delivery, estimating, and financial management. You will coordinate the technical and commercial elements of the work, including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout, while keeping scope, schedule, cost, and safety under control.

How you will do it

- Lead assigned security and fire projects from planning and estimating through delivery, commissioning, and closeout.
- Perform or delegate hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout activities.
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and project management plans in line with standardized procedures.
- Monitor project financial performance, including cash flow, billings, costs, and gross margin.
- Track scope changes carefully and ensure change orders are documented and approved before work proceeds.
- Manage the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials required for assigned projects.
- Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, technicians, installers, designers, and management throughout the project life cycle.
- Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontracts while maintaining productive working relationships with subcontractors.
- Communicate project status, forecasts, and risks to management in a clear and timely manner.
- Coordinate customer training, documentation, and manuals as needed for successful handover.
- Implement site safety and security procedures and support the safety program for Johnson Controls employees and worksite-based subcontractors.
- Take ownership of outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by staying close to the jobsite, understanding the full scope, and addressing issues before they affect delivery.
- Focus on what matters by removing obstacles quickly, keeping priorities clear, and ensuring decisions support schedule, margin, and customer commitments.
- Keep communication clear and candid with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams so scope changes, risks, and approvals are handled without delay.
- Improve every day through practical problem-solving by learning from project challenges, tightening controls, and using continuous improvement to strengthen execution.
- Win as one team by coordinating field, technical, commercial, and customer stakeholders so the project moves forward safely and consistently.

- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 years minimum experience.
- HVAC Experience Required.

Preferred

- Bachelor’s in a technical
- 4-6 years field experience in the Fire or Security industry.
- Experience with basic project accounting or costing principles
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $109,000- 164,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
