The 2027 IIHF World Junior Championship is hitting the ice at Westerner Park, and we want you to be part of the team behind the action!

Westerner Park is proud to host World Junior Hockey from December 26, 2026, to January 2, 2027, at the Marchant Crane Centrium. This exciting international event will bring world-class junior hockey to Red Deer and put our community on the international stage.

We are recruiting Entertainment Agents to join our event team and help deliver an exceptional experience throughout this major event. These are temporary positions for approximately 10 days.

Position Overview

Through providing concourse support for guests, scanning tickets, or working in the box office, the Entertainment Agent plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and successful event execution. The Entertainment Agent may be responsible for working in any of these areas throughout their employment, based on organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Tickets Alberta Manager, the Entertainment Agent is responsible for the following:

General Duties:

- Provide prompt, positive, and courteous customer service to guests when answering questions, responding to requests and complaints, and assisting guests with finding their seats or amenities.

- Ensure that promotional materials and information are available and communicated clearly to guests.

- Accurately communicate all relevant information to guests.

Concourse Support:

- Be knowledgeable on arena seating plans, seating locations/areas, and all Food and Beverage services.

- Take responsibility for your area, looking out for any spills, hazards, or disturbances, and call for the appropriate support when necessary.

- Use of Westerner Park Radio during events may be required.

- Complete other duties assigned as required by Event Venue Management.

Ticket Scanning:

- Greet guests upon their arrival.

- Ensure accurate scanning of guests' tickets and answer questions.

- Troubleshooting scanning issues, if needed, redirect guests to the Box Office for tickets that are unable to be scanned.

- Maintain a calm, courteous demeanor and escalate any issues to the supervisor or Event Venue Manager.

Box Office:

- Operate the Box Office computer software, Paciolian, and process guest ticket transactions.

- Describe and provide event and venue layouts and seating locations.

- Payment processing procedures – use of Clover system and Canadian currency. Take, process, and reconcile cash and clover transactions nightly.

- Organize and distribute "will-call" ticket pick-ups.

- Maintain a clean, organized workspace.

- Support in the training of new employees.

- Answer and respond to Tickets Alberta emails and phone calls, and direct issues to the appropriate leader / department.

Duties for other event support functions may include:

- Parking Attendant duties including directing traffic in parking lots, overseeing parking lot capacities, and managing and guarding barricades.

- Gate Cashier Duties including working in the gate booths, redeeming tickets, taking payments, answering questions, and giving instructions to guests.

- RAD Redemption duties including working in RAD redemption booths, putting wristbands on patrons, answering questions, giving directions, and providing general information. 5-20 major points regarding the role

This role is expected to adapt to changes and take on additional duties as required.

What You’ll Bring

- Basic Computer Skills

- Money handling – basic math skills required for sales areas

- Language ability

- Requires walking and standing for extended periods (6-7 hours)

- Visual and audio acuity are necessary for resolving customer service issues

- Ability to work effectively with volunteers and communicate in an appropriate interpersonal manner.

- Frequent contact with members of the public inquiring about seating locations, rules, procedures or problems, safety precautions

Compensation: $15.00 per hour
