About this role

We are seeking a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join a growing accounting and advisory firm serving high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, trusts, and estates.

This client-facing role combines complex tax preparation and compliance with proactive tax planning and wealth advisory services. The ideal candidate will work directly with clients to identify tax-saving opportunities and support strategies involving estate planning, retirement planning, business succession, and long-term wealth preservation.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, trusts, estates, and other entities.
- Develop tax projections, quarterly estimated tax strategies, and year-round tax planning recommendations.
- Analyze client financial information to identify tax-saving opportunities and improve overall tax efficiency.
- Research federal and state tax laws, regulations, and legislative changes to provide practical client recommendations.
- Assist with trust, estate, fiduciary, and related tax compliance and planning.
- Advise clients on tax implications related to retirement planning, business succession, estate planning, and wealth preservation.
- Participate in client meetings and communicate complex tax concepts and planning strategies clearly.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships while serving as a trusted tax and advisory resource.
- Collaborate with senior professionals on complex tax engagements and financial planning initiatives.
- Review tax returns, workpapers, supporting schedules, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and deliverables throughout the year.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client service and expand advisory relationships.
- Stay current on tax legislation, accounting developments, and wealth-planning strategies.

Requirements

- Active CPA license required.
- 1–3+ years of experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or a related advisory environment.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- Experience with partnership, trust, estate, and fiduciary taxation is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Interest in developing expertise in tax planning and wealth advisory beyond traditional tax compliance.
- Excellent tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex financial information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly terms.
- Ability to build trusted client relationships and deliver exceptional client service.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
- Willingness to work extended hours during tax season.
- Ability to work on-site in Oradell, New Jersey.
