Job Title: Intermediate Architect / Technical Designer Corporate Interiors Job Description This role focuses on leading and supporting the technical delivery of corporate workplace interior projects in New York City and across the country. You will take ownership of site surveys, construction documentation, code compliance, and coordination with consultants and project teams, ensuring that projects progress smoothly from initial survey through construction closeout in a fast-paced studio environment. Responsibilities

- Conduct detailed field surveys and accurately document existing conditions for corporate workplace and commercial interior projects.
- Perform comprehensive building code reviews, including egress analysis, fixture count calculations, accessibility requirements, and path-of-travel compliance.
- Produce budget scope drawings and technical specifications to support project planning and cost estimating.
- Coordinate technical design with internal architectural, design, and strategy teams as well as external consultants.
- Develop complete, coordinated construction document packages, including plans, elevations, sections, technical details, and specifications.
- Apply and maintain advanced drawing standards, including x-refs, layers, and layer management, to ensure consistent, high-quality documentation.
- Review redlines, implement revisions, and maintain drawing quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Issue drawing packages for pricing, permitting, and construction, and respond promptly to bidder questions and clarifications.
- Participate in weekly project meetings and provide clear technical input and updates on project status.
- Manage construction administration activities, including RFIs, bulletins, and addenda, in a timely and organized manner.
- Review shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with design intent and project specifications.
- Conduct site observations during construction, provide layout approvals, and document field conditions and progress.
- Lead punch list efforts, coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues, and prepare project closeout documentation.
- Collaborate directly with clients, landlords, consultants, and contractors to address technical issues and move projects forward.
- Support and occasionally lead projects from initial survey through construction closeout within a fast-paced interiors environment.

Essential Skills

- Minimum 5 years of continuous experience in corporate workplace, commercial interiors, or retail banking interior environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for architectural drafting and construction documentation.
- Proven ability to independently develop complete, coordinated construction document packages.
- Advanced knowledge of x-refs, layers, layer management, and drawing standards within CAD and BIM workflows.
- Extensive experience producing technical detailing and project documentation for interiors projects.
- Strong in corporate and workplace interior architecture and tenant improvement or workplace fit-out projects.
- Full ownership experience of construction documents, specifications, detailing, revisions, bulletins, and addenda.
- Ability to perform thorough redline reviews and quality control on drawing sets.
- Thorough understanding of NYC Building Code, NYC Zoning, and related code requirements.
- Demonstrated experience performing egress reviews, fixture count calculations, and path-of-travel compliance reviews.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and construction administration activities.
- Strong understanding of architectural contract documents and their use throughout the project lifecycle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and project stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
- High level of detail orientation and strong organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in retail banking interiors, commercial workplace interiors, and workplace strategy projects.
- Experience interacting directly with clients, landlords, consultants, and external stakeholders in a client-facing role.
- Familiarity with landlord approval processes for interior build-outs and tenant improvement projects.
- Experience managing projects from survey through construction closeout in a fast-paced interiors environment.

- Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment The role is based in a New York City office and follows a hybrid work model with four days in the office and one remote day on Fridays. Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. You will work within a large, established architectural practice of over 200 staff members across multiple locations, including studios focused on workplace, retail, banking, and healthcare projects. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and studio-based, with architects, designers, strategists, branding professionals, and consultants working together. The position is client-facing and includes regular meetings and occasional field and construction site visits. The dress code is business casual

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
