What you'll be doing
The People, Culture and Talent team helps shape the experiences that support our people, our culture and our workplace so we can help make our clients’ ambitions a reality. As Director, Inclusion - Employee Engagement, you'll lead strategies, programs and partnerships that strengthen belonging, connection and community across the bank. You'll enable CIBC’s People Networks by evolving the operating model, supporting annual planning, strengthening governance and helping executive sponsors and network leaders deliver meaningful outcomes. You'll work closely with stakeholders to embed inclusive practices into employee experiences and enterprise priorities. You'll also lead enterprise Inclusion events, campaigns and activations, develop materials for senior leaders, and use feedback and insights to continuously enhance engagement and participation. As a people leader, you'll inspire and develop your team while driving impact that helps employees feel seen, supported and connected.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
- Belonging strategy and employee experience - Lead the development and execution of strategies and initiatives that strengthen belonging and enhance the employee experience in alignment with CIBC’s Inclusion priorities.
- People Network enablement - Oversee the effectiveness of CIBC’s People Networks by supporting annual planning, goal alignment, governance, tools and standards that enable meaningful and consistent employee experiences across the organization.
- Executive sponsorship and stakeholder partnership - Partner with executive sponsors, People Network leads, Human Resources partners and business stakeholders to clarify priorities, strengthen engagement and support the successful delivery of network and Inclusion objectives.
- Programs, events and communications - Lead the planning and execution of enterprise Inclusion events, activations and campaigns, and collaborate with Communications and internal partners on messaging that highlights belonging, community and employee experience impact.
- Insights and continuous improvement - Gather and interpret employee feedback to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and recommend enhancements
- People leadership - Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team while fostering commitment, collaboration and accountability through CIBC’s key leader behaviours: enable the future, inspire hearts and minds, and drive action and impact together.

- You have relevant experience. You bring strong experience in employee engagement, inclusion, employee experience or program leadership. You know how to turn strategy into practical, people-centered initiatives that create meaningful impact.
- You are a caring and accountable leader. You have experience developing and implementing strategic team goals. You have experience coaching employees and inspiring successful team performance.
- Your influence makes a difference. You build trusted relationships with senior leaders, executive sponsors and employee-led groups, and you know how to gain commitment and stakeholder buy-in across a complex organization.
- You're passionate about people. You find meaning in relationships and surround yourself with a diverse network of partners. You connect with others through respect and authenticity.
- You can demonstrate experience in program design, stakeholder management, employee resource groups or People Networks, communications and presentations, and insight-driven planning. It’s an asset if you have experience leading enterprise Inclusion events, activations or community-building initiatives.
- You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
- You have a degree/diploma in human resources, communications, business, social sciences or a related field or equivalent relevant work experience..
