Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician at the Florence Center.
Summary:
This is a hands-on position performing general maintenance duties to keep the facility in good operating condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform general building maintenance to include painting, carpentry, plumbing, electric, and repair.
· Works at the direction of Director of Facilities for ice build and maintenance, overseeing installation of ice, which includes freezing floor; painting base color, lines and logos; and building –up the ice sheet.
· Maintain and track ice levels, temperature, humidity, glass, and dasher walls
· Perform projects that include working with sheetrock, wall vinyl, etc.
· Prepare ice for all practices, games and other ice events. Duties include removing debris; checking ice depth; scraping, edging and resurfacing ice.
· Supervise and manage Operations and Housekeeping teams as delegated by Director of Facilities during ice builds or house cleaning.
· Operate and maintain the ice re-surfacer and ice-edger.
· Maintain shop equipment and workstation with attention to safety and housekeeping.
· Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of mechanical equipment.
· Follow all safety rules and regulations.
· Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.
· Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately.
· Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner.
· May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present. Work at heights using correct safety equipment.
· Develop and submit lists of necessary repairs and improvements.
· Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:
· Good organization skills
· Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work irregular hours, shifts that include nights, graveyard shift, weekends and holidays
· Knowledge of electrical systems as it relates to maintenance.
· Skill in mechanical maintenance.
· Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties.
· Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on the hard-surface floor.
· Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds.
· Ability to operate a forklift.
Education and/or Experience:
· High School Diploma required, or 2 years of comparable experience plus required related experience may be considered in lieu of diploma.
· Bachelor's Degree from technical college with major in Management or Maintenance Engineering preferred.
· Must have direct experience building and preparing ice for skating.
· Two (2) years’ experience operating and maintaining building mechanical systems to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire and life safety related experience in lieu of ice experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
· Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility. Previous experience in operating the following equipment preferred: Genie Lift, Forklift, JLG Boom-lift, Man-Lifts as well as other motorized lifting equipment.
· Will consider any of the following EPA Certifications: TYPE I, II or III; or technical training in HVAC; or Apprentice Electricians License.
