About this role

Basic Purpose
Leads the planning and delivery of complex, multidisciplinary capital construction projects supporting NV Energy’s general office, operations center, service center, and other company facilities.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in construction management, engineering, architecture, project management, or a related field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible construction project management experience.

Candidates who do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 9 years of progressively responsible construction project management experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
• Construction and project management practice including project scope development and scope control.
• Commercial and industrial construction methods and sequencing.
• Critical Path Method scheduling.
• Work breakdown structures, milestones, dependencies, and schedule forecasting.
• Capital budgeting, estimating, forecasting, cash-flow planning, contingency management, and cost control.
• Construction procurement and contracting methods.
• Contract administration, contractor performance management, change orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
• Local, state, and federal permitting requirements.
• Applicable building codes, life-safety requirements, accessibility standards, and construction requirements.
• Construction safety and contractor safety oversight.
• Quality assurance, quality control, inspections, commissioning, and project closeout.
• General building and office systems.
• Physical security and access-control systems
• Construction activities in occupied and operational facilities.
• Project governance, financial controls, document control, and executive reporting.

Demonstrated skills such as:
• Leading and directing multidisciplinary project teams.
• Managing architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Identifying scope gaps, design conflicts, schedule delays, cost pressures, procurement risks, operational impacts, and contractor-performance concerns.
• Developing and implementing corrective-action and recovery plans.
• Managing and documenting project decisions, changes, approvals, risks, and commitments.
• Balancing customer requirements, operational needs, project costs, time constraints, risk, safety, quality, and company standards.
• Building consensus among stakeholders with differing priorities.
• Effectively negotiating project issues and resolving conflicts.
• Communicating technical construction issues clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Preparing concise executive summaries, project updates, dashboards, presentations, recommendations, and decision documents.
• Working independently while recognizing when significant risks, decisions, or changes require escalation.
• Managing multiple priorities, deadlines, stakeholders, and project assignments.
• Maintaining accurate, complete, and audit-ready project documentation.

Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment, outdoor utility yard and greenfield land environments. Will require project site visits and out of town travel. No special physical demands required
