Job Title: Receptionist Job Description The Receptionist provides high-level administrative and front-desk support by greeting and directing visitors, managing incoming calls, handling mail and courier packages, and performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. This role ensures that visitors and callers receive professional, timely, and courteous service while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the office. Responsibilities
- Greet and professionally welcome visitors, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate person or area.
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls or operate a console switchboard, providing accurate information as needed.
- Receive, log, and send packages and documents via couriers, ensuring timely and accurate handling.
- Maintain a visitor log and call records, and issue security passes or badges in accordance with office procedures.
- Perform general clerical tasks such as typing, filing, photocopying, and binding documents or books.
- Prepare mailers and other materials to support internal and external communications.
- Maintain the boardroom schedule, including booking meetings and ensuring that room equipment is available and functioning.
- Provide additional administrative support to the team as required, contributing to efficient office operations.
- Handle information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality and organized records at all times.
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to support multiple requests and deadlines.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service, front desk, administrative support, data entry, Microsoft Office, or administrative assistance roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with visitors, callers, and colleagues.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a busy reception environment.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and professional interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing ones time effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep information, records, and files accurate and well-structured.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Experience in a front desk or receptionist position in an office environment.
- Background in administrative assistance and data entry to support various office functions.
- Comfort using standard office equipment such as multi-line phones, printers, copiers, and scanners.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when preparing documents, mailers, and records.

This is a Contract position based out of Somerville, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
