Job Title: Customer Service Representative Job Description
This Customer Service Representative role focuses on supporting customers in a fast-paced industrial and mechanical products environment. You will handle high-volume inbound calls, assist with orders, navigate multiple software systems including an ERP platform, and collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve more complex questions. This position is primarily onsite in the Denver metro area and offers strong technical training, direct interaction with leadership, and significant opportunities for professional growth within a growing organization serving mechanical, industrial, and data center markets.
Responsibilities
- Handle approximately 5075 customer calls per day, delivering professional and courteous service on every interaction.
- Provide customer support and order assistance for parts, industrial products, automotive components, hardware, and related mechanical items.
- Navigate and manage multiple email inboxes and customer aliases to ensure timely responses and accurate communication.
- Utilize an ERP system throughout the day to look up information, support customers, and assist with order-related tasks.
- Perform limited order entry, ensuring accuracy of customer, product, and shipping information.
- Escalate technical questions and complex product issues to engineering and support teams when needed.
- Contribute to a high-volume customer service environment where approximately 80% of the role centers on customer service, 10%15% on technical support, and about 5% on order entry.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues efficiently and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Apply product and parts knowledge to guide customers toward appropriate solutions and alternatives.
Essential Skills
- 14 years of experience in customer service, parts counter, industrial distribution, hardware, automotive parts, or supply chain roles.
- Customer service experience in parts, industrial distribution, automotive parts, hardware, mechanical products, or similar industries.
- Comfort managing high call volume, including handling approximately 5075 calls per day.
- Experience working within ERP systems (any ERP system) in a customer-facing or order-support capacity.
- Ability to multitask effectively across multiple software systems and email inboxes.
- Strong phone skills with clear, professional, and confident communication.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to de-escalate issues and find practical solutions.
- Foundational knowledge of parts or industrial products sufficient to understand customer needs and route technical questions appropriately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Acumatica ERP is a plus.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Gmail is preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulic hose, fittings, threads, industrial parts, or mechanical components is highly beneficial.
- Experience working with or for industrial supply distributors, mechanical supply houses, plumbing supply organizations, or similar environments.
- Background in auto parts stores, hardware retailers, home improvement stores, or parts counters is ideal.
- Ability to learn technical product details through training and ongoing collaboration with engineering and support teams.
- Interest in long-term professional growth, advancement opportunities, and building a career in industrial and mechanical product support.
Work Environment
This role is based in the Denver metro area and is primarily onsite. It is not expected to include the hybrid flexibility available to certain sales roles, so you should be comfortable working in an in-person, office-based environment. You will work in a fast-paced customer service setting that supports mechanical, industrial, and data center markets, using an ERP system, multiple software applications, and email throughout the day. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
