You should not apply for this role if you will require Toyota to assist with immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future.

Who we’re looking for

This position sits within the "Design" pillar of the Learning & Development organization. The Senior Learning Experience Designer leads complex, high-visibility, or enterprise-wide solution design efforts that often involve significant strategic ambiguity.

This role is responsible for translating scoped business needs (provided by the Discover team) into end-to-end learning architecture, experiences, content, and evaluation instruments. The Senior Designer is responsible for the quality and instructional integrity of the solution, establishes design standards for the team, mentors junior designers, and ensures a seamless handoff of facilitation-ready materials to the Deliver team.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead complex, high-visibility, or enterprise-wide solution design efforts, architecting multi-year capability-building programs and continuous learning journeys.
- Partner with Discover consultants to shape early-stage solution recommendations, challenge assumptions, and ensure alignment with root-cause performance gaps.
- Set the standard for instructional writing, multimedia development, and visual communication across the L&D organization.
- Design innovative, multi-modal measurement tools that embed learning directly into the flow of work, reducing reliance on formal training.
- Establish instructional design standards, templates, and best practices for the broader Design team.
- Evaluate and integrate new authoring tools, multimedia platforms, and design technologies into the team's workflow.
- Define the governance model for content versioning, maintenance, and lifecycle management across the function.
- Drive enterprise-wide accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design initiatives within all learning solutions.
- Oversee peer-review processes and calibrate the team on instructional quality, cognitive load principles, and brand alignment.
- Use advanced learning analytics and evaluation data to prove ROI and drive shifts in the L&D design portfolio.
- Mentor and coach Learning Experience Designers on advanced instructional design craft, storytelling, and multimedia production techniques.

What you bring

- 5+ years of Instructional Design experience building end-to-end curriculum for complex enterprise initiatives.
- Business Acumen: Connects design work to immediate business outcomes (e.g., accuracy, efficiency, learner support) and understands broader business functions beyond the immediate assignment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Acts as a cross-functional trusted advisor, understanding when to involve other teams or roles in resolving issues, and builds trust through responsiveness and reliable follow-through.
- Toyota Values & Culture: Reinforces Toyota culture through dependable execution, respectful collaboration, "Genchi Genbutsu" (Go and See), and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong skills in E-Learning Authoring Tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360), Adobe Creative Cloud, and digital video composition applications.
- Must show the ability to defend development decisions by correlating them to program goals and adult learning principles.
- Must be familiar using Bloom’s taxonomy when creating learning objectives.

Added bonus if you have

- Financial Services industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Vyond or similar animation tools.
