Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, the EA SPORTS UFC team is on a mission to become the world's greatest fighting game. We're looking for a C++ Software Engineer Intern to join our UFC team for an 8-month internship beginning in May 2027. Reporting to a Senior Software Engineer and paired with an engineering mentor, you will work on a close-knit team, contribute to game features, engine systems and tech initiatives, and learn the game development process at EA and on UFC. This team works onsite at our Burnaby studio 3 days a week, Tuesday to Thursday.
Responsibilities:
- You will develop and debug features, systems and tools for a cross-platform game.
- You will write C/C++ code that ships with the game.
- You will follow best practices to maximize game performance across PC and console platforms.
- You will collaborate with engineers, artists, designers and producers to take features from idea to screen.
- You will use AI-assisted development tools, with guidance from the team, to explore code, prototype and test faster.
Requirements:

- You must be legally authorized to work in Canada for the entire internship - visa sponsorship is not available.
- You must be enrolled in an accredited degree program and return to school for at least one semester following your internship with EA.
- You must be graduating in May 2028 or later, including the time needed to complete your internship.
Qualifications:
- You are enrolled in an accredited program in a related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar)
- Entry-level experience; prior internship, coursework, or personal projects in C++ are valued .
- You are familiar with C++ and at least one other programming language .
- You understand object-oriented programming and have used vector math or trigonometry in a project.
- You are curious about AI-assisted development tools and can explain, test and stand behind any code you submit, including code a tool helped you write.
