Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity We're looking for an experienced Head of FinOps to join Fonterra on contract and lead the implementation of our Apptio Technology Business Management (TBM) platform, while establishing a FinOps capability that will deliver greater transparency, accountability and value from technology investment.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this is a unique opportunity to build a new capability from the ground up in a large and complex organisation. You'll work at the intersection of Technology, Finance and the business, helping leaders better understand technology costs, consumption and investment decisions.
This is a highly visible transformation role where you'll partner with senior stakeholders to embed TBM principles, establish FinOps practices and drive a more commercial approach to technology investment. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bring proven implementation experience, and help shape the future of technology financial management at Fonterra.
What you'll do:
- Lead the implementation of Apptio TBM and establish Fonterra's FinOps capability.
- Embed cost transparency, allocation models and reporting that support better decision-making.
- Partner with Technology, Finance and business leaders to drive financial accountability and value realisation.
- Identify opportunities to optimise technology and cloud spend while improving investment outcomes.

Mōu | About you You've successfully implemented Apptio TBM solution and know what it takes to turn technology cost data into meaningful business insights. You're commercially minded, outcomes-focused and comfortable operating in complex environments where you need to influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity and drive momentum.
You enjoy building capabilities from the ground up, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and delivering tangible results at pace
You'll bring:
- Strong Apptio TBM and Cloudability experience.
- A background in FinOps, TBM, Technology Finance or IT Financial Management.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
- A track record of delivering technology cost optimisation and financial transparency initiatives.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with a contractor mindset.
