Position Summary
The Night Crew Supervisor is responsible for overseeing overnight grocery operations, leading night crew associates, and ensuring freight is stocked efficiently and accurately. This position helps maintain store standards, inventory accuracy, merchandising execution, and operational readiness for the next business day. The Night Crew Supervisor promotes productivity, safety, and teamwork while supporting overall store performance.
Key Responsibilities
Overnight Operations
- Supervise and coordinate nightly stocking activities throughout the store.
- Assign workload and monitor completion of stocking, facing, and recovery tasks.
- Ensure freight is unloaded, sorted, stocked, and merchandised according to company standards.
- Maintain store readiness for opening by ensuring shelves are stocked and aisles are organized.
- Monitor overnight productivity and adjust labor resources as needed.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop night crew associates.
- Communicate daily priorities, expectations, and operational goals.
- Provide training on stocking procedures, safety practices, and company policies.
- Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and results.
- Assist with associate evaluations, attendance follow-up, and performance improvement efforts.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory conditions and identify out-of-stock issues.
- Ensure proper product rotation and stocking accuracy.
- Assist with inventory counts and audit preparation.
- Support shrink reduction efforts through proper product handling and inventory control.
- Communicate inventory concerns and product shortages to store leadership.
Merchandising and Store Conditions
- Verify products are stocked according to planograms and merchandising standards.
- Ensure displays, endcaps, and promotional features are executed correctly.
- Maintain clean, organized aisles and backroom areas.
- Verify shelf tags, pricing labels, and signage are accurate and properly displayed.
- Support seasonal and promotional merchandising initiatives.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce company safety procedures and operational standards.
- Promote safe use of pallet jacks, forklifts, ladders, and other equipment.
- Ensure work areas remain clean and free of hazards.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous grocery, retail, warehouse, stocking, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic math, inventory, and merchandising knowledge.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment as required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach throughout extended shifts.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work overnight schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Frequent use of ladders, pallet jacks, carts, and stocking equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer environments.

- High in-stock levels and strong shelf conditions.
