Travel Medical Assistant - Nationwide | Temp/Seasonal - West Virginia

Bring your Medical Assistant skills directly to patients at home. This temporary/seasonal role is built for a West Virginia-based MA who is comfortable working independently, traveling frequently, and supporting preventive-care visits in different U.S. markets based on patient coverage needs.

You’ll complete scheduled in-home visits, support Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive-care activities, and document care accurately in an EMR/EHR. Quick Details

- Location: West Virginia-based, with nationwide U.S. travel based on coverage needs

- Pay: $35/hour

- Type: W-2 temporary/seasonal, non-exempt

- Project timeline: Expected through January 2027; extension is possible but not guaranteed

- Hours: Generally scheduled for full-time hours, but actual hours may vary based on patient volume and assignment needs

- Minimum hours: If there are not enough patients available in your area, the minimum guaranteed hours for that week is 20 hours

- Schedule: Typically 8 AM–5 PM, either Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday depending on assignment

- Benefits: Temporary seasonal MAs are not eligible for benefits

What You’ll Do

- Complete scheduled in-home member visits

- Support Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive-care activities

- Take vitals, complete screenings, and perform approved point-of-care testing such as A1Cs and UAs

- Document visits accurately in the EMR/EHR

- Follow clinical, safety, HIPAA, and infection-control procedures

Travel Expectations & Support

- Travel nationwide across the U.S. based on business and patient coverage needs

- Assignments may begin in West Virginia but can be anywhere within the U.S.

- Expect frequent travel, including extended and overnight assignments

- Schedules are typically provided about two weeks ahead

- Mileage is reimbursed at $0.725 per mile between eligible patient visits

- Required travel time is paid, including out-of-state travel and flights to and from assignments

- Eligible travel expenses are covered, including transportation, flights when needed, rental car when needed, hotel, and meals

What You’ll Need

- At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience

- Medical Assistant certificate, diploma, credential, or equivalent qualification

- Hands-on clinical Medical Assistant experience

- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current registration, and active auto insurance

- Comfort working independently in patients’ homes

- Ability to meet vaccination and TB/PPD onboarding requirements

- Ability and willingness to travel anywhere within the U.S., including extended and overnight assignments

Nice to Have

- Medicare Annual Wellness Visit or preventive-care experience

- Home-visit, mobile-care, field-based, or community health experience

- Experience with A1Cs, UAs, specimen collection, or similar point-of-care testing

- Well-Child Visit experience
