Job Summary:
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 20-hours per week), short-term, Biological Sciences Technician 1 position for the North Willamette Research & Extension Center at Oregon State University (OSU). This position is anticipated to last approximately one year.
Work under the supervision of the program lead conducting a variety of tasks necessary to the functions of the laboratory and field research. Duties using computer software, collecting data, entering data, rearing insects, extensive lab work and other duties as needed. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of college-level courses in Horticulture/Crop Science/Agronomy/Soil Science/Botany or other Biology/Natural Resources discipline; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Competence in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience working on a farm.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior biological research technician experience for the hazelnut/orchards program.
# Working Conditions/Schedule:
Outdoor work is expected to be performed in all weather conditions.
Attention to detail.
Perform assigned tasks without close supervision
Capable of working outside and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Work schedule will be as needed.
Salary Range:
$18.06 - $23.88
